Showcasing the Cultural Diversity of the Gold Coast and South East Queensland

The objectives of the Queensland Cultural Events Association are:

  • To represents the diverse cultural communities resident on the Gold Coast (those born overseas and their direct descendants) with respect to their traditions and cultural values, and any cultural or artistic expression of these.

  • To promote greater awareness and participation in cultural activities.

  • To support celebrations of place and promote a greater sense of community and belonging.

  • To promote understanding and respect between different cultural groups.

  • The Festival is aimed at uniting the many diverse cultures that co-exist on the Gold Coast, and to provide a number of activities leading up to the Main Festival Day - a day of ‘Fun & Diversity’ that all Gold Coast Families can enjoy. 


Activities currently included in the 

Festival Family Day event planning are:

  •  International Music, Dance, Drumming on 3 Stages

  •  Main, Workshop Stages & Music Cafe (Chill-out zone)

  •  Food Stalls - International Food Festival, and

  •  Art/Craft Sales, Cultural Displays & Information

  •  Promotional & Community Stalls

  • ... up to 74 Stalls (for the above categories)

  •  Interactive Workshops

  •  Multicultural Films

  •  Children's Rides and Activities
